I will read this book many times” -Liana Finck, author of Passing for Human: A Graphic Memoir “Mr. In IN, he has created a hilarious, touching, infinitely surprising world. “Will McPhail draws sensitively and with impeccable emotional precision. Illustrated in both color and black-and-white in McPhail’s instantly recognizable style, In elevates the graphic novel genre it captures his trademark humor and compassion with a semi-autobiographical tale that is equal parts hilarious and heart-wrenching-uncannily appropriate for our isolated times. Nick’s journey occurs alongside the beginnings of a relationship with Wren, a wry, spirited oncologist at a nearby hospital, whose work and life becomes painfully tangled with Nick’s. But it isn’t until he learns to speak from the heart that he begins to find authentic human connections and is let in-to the worlds of the people he meets. He haunts lookalike fussy, silly, coffee shops, listens to old Joni Mitchell albums too loudly, and stares at his navel in the hope that he will find it in there. Nick, a young illustrator, can’t shake the feeling that there is some hidden realm of human interaction beyond his reach. Nem akartam elkezdeni, mert nem akartam sietni vele és a hónap utolsó két napja volt, de aztán az utolsón csak elkezdtem kicsit beleolvasni és nem tudtam letenni, így hiába nem akartam sietni, tényleg nem tudtam mást csinálni, csak, amit nagyon muszáj volt és ezt olvasni. Mondhatom, hogy 5/5? :DD Egyszerűen imádtam. „I guess I’ve always been so busy trying to avoid being unhappy that I never found a way to be happy.” Suddenly, the days ahead of him that once promised rest and relaxation (not to mention some epic Netflix bingeing) end up bringing a whirlwind of feelings, forcing Felipe to dive head-first into every unresolved issue he has had with himself – but maybe, just maybe, he'll manage to win over Caio, too. Felipe is distraught because A) he's had a crush on Caio since, well, forever, and B) Felipe has a list of body image insecurities and absolutely NO idea how he's going to entertain his neighbor for two full weeks. But things get a little out of hand when Felipe's mom informs him that Caio, the neighbor kid from apartment 57, will be spending the next 15 days with them while his parents are on vacation. His plans include catching up on his favorite TV shows, finishing his to-be-read pile, and watching YouTube tutorials on skills he'll never actually put into practice. Finally, he'll be able to spend some time far away from school and the classmates who tease him incessantly. That's why he's been waiting for this moment ever since the school year began: school break. And he doesn't need anyone to remind him, which is, of course, what everyone does. What would you do if you had to spend the next 15 days with your lifelong crush? Felipe gets it – he's fat. The charm and humor of To All the Boys I've Loved Before meets Dumplin' in this body-positive YA love story between two boys who must spend 15 days living with each other over school break.
